about

Ghosts abound on Oxtail Recordings' first split release. Charlottesville's Dais Queue builds a shimmering, meditative space with prepared guitar, keys, and sruti box to invite curious, playful spirits. Philly/Brooklyn duo Mope Lounge doesn't have such luck on the flip - their visitors are anxious and hungry, and the group's churning synth and guitar improvisations provide no rest for the weary. A satisfying compare-and-contrast between styles, each reinforcing the other's strengths and unique approach.

"Amorphous Other(s)" recorded at various times by Davis Salisbury in Charlottesville, Virgina. Mope Lounge is a collaborative disaster between Zak Krone and Mike Nigro. Art & Design by Owen Corrigan.
