Heavy on dusty grooves and gooey screwed samples, this split is an embarrassment of riches for everyone from beat heads to deep zoners. Edmonton-based producer Sam Hatzaras (Ectoplasm, The Petrified Heart of an Air Whale) leads with a set of gritty hip-hop noir sourced from old vinyl and VHS samples - his image of urban dystopia will have you doing double-takes over your shoulder while you walk home at night. On the flip, Brooklyn's noino (Tynan DeLong) treats old soul samples like a lava lamp, slowly stretching horns, strings and vocals to their limit and rebuilding new scenes from the blown-out remains.
